How daylight saving time affects time zone comparisons
The gap between two cities isn't fixed throughout the year. Countries transition into and out of daylight saving time on different dates — and some don't observe it at all — so a comparison made in January can look different in July, and for a few weeks each spring and autumn the difference may be temporarily off by an hour while regions catch up with each other.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compare multiple time zones?
Add the cities you want to compare, choose a date and reference time, and the tool shows each city's local time, UTC offset and a shared 24-hour timeline with working-hours bands.
Can time differences change during the year?
Yes. Because countries observe daylight saving time on different dates — or not at all — the gap between two cities can shift by an hour at different points in the year.
Does this tool account for daylight saving time?
Yes. Every local time, offset and working-hours band is calculated for the specific date you select, using each city's real time zone rules.
How many cities can I compare?
You can compare between two and six cities at once.
How are overlapping business hours calculated?
The tool checks, across the reference day, which moments fall inside every selected city's 09:00–17:00 working hours simultaneously, and totals that shared window.
