Which tool should I use?

The tools overlap a little by design. This is the quickest way to pick the right one.

I just need to know what time it is somewhere right now
Use Time Difference by City. It shows the current local time in a city and the UTC offset that applies today, which already accounts for daylight saving time.
I need to convert one specific date and time
Use the Time Zone Converter. Give it a single moment — "Thursday 3:00 PM in Berlin" — and it tells you what that is somewhere else. Best when you already know the time and only need it translated.
I want to see whose working hours actually overlap
Use Compare Time Zones. It puts several cities on one 24-hour timeline and highlights the hours that fall inside a normal 9-to-5 day everywhere at once, so you can see how much shared time exists before you propose anything.
I need to pick a meeting time that works for everyone
Use the International Meeting Planner. Unlike the comparison view, you can set each participant's own working hours and meeting length, and it ranks the workable slots rather than leaving you to read them off a chart.
I'm flying to the meeting and need to know when to leave
Use Meeting Travel. It works backward from the meeting time through preparation, ground transport, flight time and airport buffers to a departure time — and tells you when the trip only works if you travel the day before.

Working out when to travel rather than what to calculate? Read when should you fly for a business meeting.
